Hi and welcome to Chuuken
Akitas.
We are located in New England
and members of the Greater Lowell Kennel Club, the Squakheag Akita Club, and the Akita Club of America. We are
devoted to the health and well-being of our family of akitas. They have regular vet checks, are up to date on all vaccinations
and at 2 yrs of age have OFA certs, thyroid and eye testing. Our Akitas are also raised in a family setting
and well socialized. Akitas have been part of our family
for over 20 years and we look forward to many more years with this multi-faceted breed. But, this is not a breed for
everyone. Please do your research, go to shows, check with experienced breeders before deciding to add one to your family. You might see us at New England dog shows as we are out there having fun and
hopefully winning! Infodog on our links page will help you to locate local shows. In addition to conformation
our akitas are also learning carting and mushing. Feel free
to browse, we are a site and kennel in progress.

Our
Story In 1985 my husband and I purchased our
first akita, Katana, and our 3 children grew up with her. She could often be found in our backyard watching over
them and their friends as they played together. Their friends' parents were always impressed with Tana's watchful
eyes, she would not even allow them access to the backyard! On weekends we would all hike in the nearby White Mountains
of New Hampshire, with Tana always by our side. She was truly a wonderful representation of what is possible with
this breed and a huge part of our family for many years until her passing at 12+ yrs. While
Tana was still young we got our 2nd akita, Yoshi. He was a beautiful white we bought from a couple who
had lost interest in him. Yoshi had not been socialized well and although he never showed aggression towards
anyone, was never interested in anyone outside our family. He was loved until his passing at 14 yrs. We got our 3rd akita, Jubi Aki's Victorious Secret (Tori), when both Tana and Yoshi were older. Tori
was shown and pointed but more importantly, was a very loved family pet. I truly believe she had a great deal to
do with how well our Akita family blends together. We said goodbye to her in 2007, just after Christmas. You can
read our Tribute to her on the next page. Enjoy browsing through. We've put
candid pictures on our website and will add any show pictures when available.
