You'll see
Tori scattered throughout this site, she was a big part of our lives for 15+ years. We were very fortunate to call
her ours, and we hers, for so much time. Tori was one of those rare akitas.
She freely offered love, loyalty, patience and all she had for those she loved. As a much younger girl Tori would dance
in excitement at the very thought of being hooked to her old sled so that she could pull screaming and laughing neighborhood
children up and down their dead end street. The sled was an old plastic one, but the ride was the Iditerod to Tori.
To a young son she was a soccer player in the backyard, thumping the ball across the yard and grabbing it in her mouth moments
before he could kick it, leaving him lying there laughing. She was a champion wrestler to the same son as he grew, never
leaving a mark on him. To a daughter she was a pillow, confidant and beloved foot rest. To
a succession of three young akitas added to our family she was a groomer, teacher, and although never one herself, a nurturing
mother. At her side they learned to behave, play nice and love. We miss her wildly
swinging tail, her big wide smile, the click of her nails on wood as she followed us through the house. We miss her
good mornings and welcome homes...................we just plain miss her and always will. We
said goodbye with tears, body hugs, and whispers of you were the best, we love you, we'll miss you, we'll see you again.
I held her big head in my arms as she passed and wished her youth and health again. We
will see you again Tori, watch for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
